The report
Quinn read the report over coffee at the kitchen counter, the same counter where the second shift used to happen. It had been sitting there since four minutes past six the evening before. The follow ups sounded like Quinn, not like a robot doing an impression. Two words changed in one email. Reply: send them. The drive to the office was quiet, no dictating notes at red lights. When two deals closed in March, the handoff docs for onboarding were drafted the same afternoon. When Quinn's forecast held for a second straight quarter, three other reps on the team hired their own, and the eighty five thousand dollar sales ops hire budgeted for the fall came off the plan. Quinn had the best quarter of a seven year career and left the office at five most days. The job finally fits inside the hours it was always supposed to take.
