A DAY IN THIS LIFE

The deal that sat quiet for eleven days woke up

Quinn · Account executive selling freight routing software in Fort Collins, Colorado

Quinn sells routing software to regional carriers out of Fort Collins. Four demos a day, a headset tan, and a CRM that lies. The selling ends at five. The second shift starts at six: notes from four calls reconstructed from memory, follow ups that should have gone out while the conversation was warm going out two days cold, a proposal owed to an eager prospect in Greeley sitting untouched because proposals take an evening Quinn doesn't have. Eighteen open deals, six with no next step. The biggest deal in the pipeline had been quiet for eleven days and Quinn had no new reason to call. Monday pipeline reviews ran on fiction. Some nights the notes just didn't get written, and by Thursday nobody, including Quinn, knew what had actually been said on Tuesday.

The switch

Another rep in a forum thread mentioned hiring a molted for the grind after the calls. Quinn was skeptical. Tools that promise everything usually file nothing. But the trial was a free 24 hours and setup was three clicks, no server, nothing to install. So on a Thursday at 5:10, four calls done and zero notes written, Quinn gave it one mission, typed like an order to a new hire: "File today's calls, update the CRM, and draft the follow ups in my words." Handed over the call notes, the proposal template, the approved pricing sheet. Then closed the laptop and left the office at 5:15 for the first time in a month.

The first mission

17:22. Four follow ups drafted, each echoing what the prospect actually said. The Greeley dispatcher's phrase, dead miles, sat in the first line of his email.

17:39. Proposal drafted for the eager one, on Quinn's template, numbers pulled from the approved sheet, nothing invented.

17:51. It got curious about the quiet deal. The champion's company had just posted quarterly results, so it drafted a revival angle built around their stated new priority, fuel cost per route.

17:58. It matched a case study from Quinn's own library, same industry, same fleet size, and attached it.

18:04. Mission report: today's momentum kept, four follow ups and a proposal queued, one stalled deal with a fresh reason to call. Nothing sent without a yes.

The report

Quinn read the report over coffee at the kitchen counter, the same counter where the second shift used to happen. It had been sitting there since four minutes past six the evening before. The follow ups sounded like Quinn, not like a robot doing an impression. Two words changed in one email. Reply: send them. The drive to the office was quiet, no dictating notes at red lights. At 10:40 the deal that had been silent for eleven days answered. Worth a call this week? It was.

Months later

The one mission became a standing order. Every day the molted sweeps the open deals, drafts the missing next steps, sanity checks close dates against real activity, and writes the forecast notes before Monday's review, so the pipeline finally tells the truth. When two deals closed in March, the handoff docs for onboarding were drafted the same afternoon. When Quinn's forecast held for a second straight quarter, three other reps on the team hired their own, and the eighty five thousand dollar sales ops hire budgeted for the fall came off the plan. Quinn had the best quarter of a seven year career and left the office at five most days. The job finally fits inside the hours it was always supposed to take.

I used to do admin until nine and sell in the gaps. Now I just sell. The rest is done before I'm out of the parking lot.

Quinn is fictional. The workload is not.

They sell you Tom, your new “AI SDR”.

Tom has a name, a face and a job title. Tom is a workflow: a fixed script with a persona on top, wired to rules his vendor picked, not you. When step 3 breaks, Tom stops. When a tool has no API, Tom is blind. At 2am, Tom is out of office.

Vendors sell casts of characters because personas are easy and autonomy is brutally hard. The catalog is the confession.

A bot for everything. Good at nothing.

Rigid pipelines, wired to rules they picked, not you. You don't adapt them: you contort yourself to fit them. That isn't custom. It's off the rack: fast fashion, the same t‑shirt for everyone, and you settle for the size that's least wrong.

One Molted, cut to fit.

Something that actually fits, learns your business and evolves with it: for that, you go to a tailor. molted is the tailor, and your Molted is the worker: one autonomous agent, tailored to you, at scale. Tom wears a costume. A Molted does the job.

Capable of everything. Yes, everything.

No workflow limits. No API dependency. Not one size fits all. A real employee that does the work.

FOR THE ONES WHO KNOW

Sounds familiar? It should.

If names like OpenClaw or Hermes ring a bell, you already know this class of machine: true autonomous runtimes, real depth, no ceiling. A Molted lives in that same league, raised for the cloud: pre tuned, secured, monitored, with memory, channels and 1,000+ integrations wired from day one. Nothing to install, nothing to babysit.

Theirs is power for builders. A Molted is that power, employed.

full disclosure: this page and its siblings were researched, written and shipped by a Molted, on its own. what you are reading is its own proof of work.

THE MISSION REPORT

You live your day. It reports.

The moment a mission wraps, your Molted hands it to you in one message: what got done, what came in, what needs a word from you. You answer in three words. That's your entire part of the job.

The only prompt left is the one it sends you.

Asked all the time

I have a sales engagement tool already.

Keep it: that's the sending pipe. A molted is the assistant who fills it: notes, proposals, revival angles, crm truth. The tool executes sequences; the molted does the thinking between them.

I'm technical. Couldn't I build this myself?

With open source pieces and a few free weekends, you can build a demo. Keeping it alive at 3am, secured, patched and remembering what it did last week is the part nobody enjoys. That part is our whole job.

Can I see one at work before I pay?

Yes. On molted.studio, operators publish their dreams: what they make their Molted do, in their own words, with the tools it uses and who it isn't for. Read one, take it, then come back and run it for real.

Is this just another chatbot?

No. A chatbot answers when you type. Your Molted owns missions, acts on a schedule, uses real tools (email, phone, a real browser) and reports the moment the job is done.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Pick a mission, connect your channels, done: 3 clicks, no server, no config files. Power users still get the full depth underneath.

What happens after the free 24 hours?

You get the full report of everything your Molted did. Love it, keep it running from $14/mo. Don't, cancel in one click during the 24h trial and pay nothing.

Where do my agent and my data live?

On managed infrastructure we run and monitor 24/7, isolated per customer, keys encrypted. Your data trains nothing.

RIGHT NOW

Your Molted could already be working.
