Nobody drifts between Wade's sessions anymore

These days Wade reads one report with his first coffee, answers in three words, and is on the Swamp Rabbit Trail by 7:30 with nothing chasing him. It took nine years of coaching to earn a morning like that.
Wade spent twelve years as a shift supervisor at a plant off the interstate south of Greenville before he started coaching the people he used to be: operations managers, plant leads, first time directors. Fourteen clients, one hour every other week. The hour was never the problem. The 335 hours in between were. Check ins promised on Tuesday got typed Thursday at 11pm, half of them opening with the same sentence. Homework sat untouched until 40 minutes before the call. Breakthroughs he swore he'd write down never got written, so renewal conversations opened with "remind me where we started." And the voice memos from the trail, forty ideas a month, died in his phone.

The switch
A coach in his mastermind mentioned she'd hired a molted, and Wade said what every coach says: my clients pay for me, not for something pretending to be me. But the first night was free, the setup was three clicks with nothing to install, so he gave it the smallest mission he had. Read my session notes. Draft the mid week check ins. Send nothing without my okay. He pasted in two months of notes and went to bed expecting to cancel by breakfast.
That night
23:47. Eight clients were due a mid week check in. It drafted each one from that client's own thread: the second shift manager dreading Friday's handoff meeting got a note about the handoff meeting, not a template.
01:10. Two clients hadn't opened their homework since the last call. Gentle accountability nudges drafted, specific and guilt free.
03:24. It found Tuesday's breakthrough buried in Wade's notes, the plant lead who finally delegated a full shift without hovering, and logged it to her arc with the date.
05:40. Session prompts prepped for the week's calls, one page per client, built from where each of them actually stood.
07:00. Morning report: eight check ins waiting for approval, two nudges, nobody drifting.
The morning
Wade read the eight drafts at the kitchen counter, still in his running shoes. He changed two words in one and nothing in the other seven. They sounded like him because they were built from him: his notes, his phrasing, their goals. He typed "send them." By noon three clients had replied, and the one dreading the handoff meeting wrote back four words: needed this today, thanks.
Months later
Discovery requests get answered in minutes now, even the 11pm ones, with a call booked before the prospect shops around. The trail memos became two posts and a weekly email; two clients signed from the email alone. Renewal month stopped being an ambush: every conversation opens with a recap of that client's own wins, and eleven of twelve renewed. The roster grew from fourteen to twenty two, so Wade launched his first group cohort and let the molted run the waitlist overnight. He had budgeted thirty grand for a part time virtual assistant. The line still reads $14 a month. Wade does the coaching. The practice breathes on its own.
